August 2nd and August 3rd 2007 will bring forth yet another historical event showcasing the stellar careers of Omaha Nebraska’s inspirational community leaders. Gospel pioneers, local musicians, vocalists and civic icons with roots in Omaha, Nebraska will be honored.
In August 2005 the Omaha Black Music Hall Of Fame honored some 40 great contributors to Omaha’s music heritage.
A heart felt and personal thank you to all those, who thru their unselfish and dedicated efforts, made this event both highly successful
and
truly memorable.

This year’s list of honorees/ inductees will include inspirational community leaders including Priest, Pastors, Ministers (spouses); lay persons and gospel choirs, whose individual, civic and musical careers began in Omaha, Nebraska. Inductees include Living Legends as well as honorees recognized posthumously.
Selection of inductees will again be based on but not limited to extensive research through a number of sources including Omaha’s, the Reader Magazine,
( www.Thereader.com), the Midwest Music Masters,(www.Midwestmusicmasters.com), and the Nebraska Music Hall of Fame Foundation. Music genres highlights include, but are not limited to, Classical, Rhythm & Blues, Big Band, Jazz and Gospel.
This Formal star-studded event is intended to continue on a bi-annual basis and will coincide with the Native Omahans Homecoming. This year’s ceremony is tentatively scheduled for two separate but equally entertaining and informative evenings:

Proceeds from this event will fund scholarships for students in the Omaha School District in furthering their education in the Arts, Business, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science, Theology and of course, Music. This non-profit venture will provide on-going scholarship opportunities for youth in the Omaha area.
The Omaha Black Music Hall of Fame is documenting the accomplishments of the inductees with photographs, written biographies and video presentations (through interviews with community leaders, Pastor/Ministers, musicians and vocalists and/or their family members) as well as archival information from extended families and friends.
