Nominee Criteria

 

"The Omaha Black Music Hall of Fame will induct inspirational community leaders, exceptional musicians and vocialist, including gospel pioneers who left their mark on the civic and music scene. This includes top civic leaders, musicians and vocalist who started in Omaha and moved on to other cities to pursue professional and music careers."

The specific criteria for consideration and induction into the Omaha Black Music Hall Of Fame begans with documented history in music as a muscian or vocalist that began in Omaha and lasted for 10 years. Submission of a bio and a picture. A final vote by the current members of the selection committee based on but not limited to the minimal aforementioned prequalifications will determine entry into the Omaha Black Music Hall Of Fame. Selection of inductees is based on extensive research through a number of sources including the Nebraska Music Hall of Fame Foundation. Music genres highlighted include, but are not limited to gospel, rhythm & blues, big band, blues and jazz.

Any updates or information in regards to individuals, groups or bands that may have been inadvertently missed should be submitted for consideration.
